Ron Marks

Ron Marks is Dean Emeritus at the Tulane School of Social Work, having just stepped down after 15 years in that position. His PhD is in social welfare from the School of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh; he also has an MSW and a master’s degree in public health. Ron has published on diverse topics including adolescent life, homelessness, and family and aging services, addressing the stress associated with providing care to frail aging relatives.  During the last several years he has been actively engaged in issues related to trauma and resilience. For the last 16 years he has been developing a project working with Tibetan refugees.  His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama accepted his invitation to come to Tulane in May 2013.
