Join Meryl for a fun-filled time of singing, dancing, and silliness! Music is a wonderful tool for creating rituals, learning Hebrew vocabulary, and enhancing Shabbat and holidays. Parents will learn new Jewish songs (or perhaps enjoy singing along to old favorites!) that they can bring home to their families. Games Jewish Children Played Long Ago
Imagine playing delightful games that your great-grandma or great-grandpa played when all the young cousins were gathered together for Pesach! We will play many different games that Jewish children played long ago. Some will involve nuts in their shell (walnuts, Brazil nuts, and hazelnuts). Others will be playful songs or games like hide-and-search/hot-and-cold sprinkled with a bisl (a little) Yiddish. The games will be geared to children ages 4-6, but parents are welcome to listen and learn.

Thoughtful Tots: Mindfulness for Children
Mindfulness is the act of drawing awareness to thoughts, feelings, and/or bodily sensations happening from moment to moment. Children can be taught to be mindful, which has many benefits: it promotes self-awareness and concentration and reduces staff. JFS staff will lead a hands-on activity with young children on mindfulness, which will include reading "Moody Cow Meditates" (by Kerry Lee Macleen), making mini-mind jars, and teaching breathing techniques to help promote being present, focused, and calm with activities from mindyeti.com.
