Throughout Tanakh and rabbinic texts, God is described in a multitude of ways — Creator, Redeemer, Judge, Master, just to name a few.  As Jews explore how their ancestors encountered the Divine in different situations, it raises the question of what kind of divine entity God is in the first place, and what kind of personal relationship with God we are directed by our tradition to build.
